FMSC-Blog

On March 5th the Intereum team travelled to Chanhassen’s Feed My Starving Children to pack meals for malnourished children in Panama. After the wonderful staff of Feed My Starving Children briefed the team on the packaging process, Intereum packed 81 boxes of rice mix, which equates to 17,496 meals!

Feed My Starving Children (FMSC), a non-profit Christian organization, commits their work to feeding malnourished children to nearly 70 countries around the globe. Their vision is to work toward eliminating malnourishment and starvation in children who are in need of a source of food. FMSC strives to promote and instill compassion in the people of the United States to care for those needs and take part in eliminating starvation in children worldwide.

Every day 6,200 children die of starvation and malnourishment. In order to change this statistic, volunteers (such as the Intereum team) are coming together to package meals and feed the hungry children across the world. In 2014 alone, Feed My Starving Children had nearly 900,000 volunteers package and sent more than 229,200,000 meals. One group can make such an impact on those who are in need of compassion and nourishment. To get involved, go to fmsc.org and click on ‘volunteer’.
